I don't edit my photos heavily, but once in a while its fun to create something from two or more photographs. The possibilities are endless if you have the time to spend and understand how to use the software. Digital photography has made us all skeptics as to what is real and what is fake.
It's hard not to look at a photograph and wonder what photoshop work has been done to it. Some edits are fine and thankfully so. No one wants to see the pimples or zits on there face. I personal like the photoshop diet, but often times it gets carried away.
I do admire the those who can use software (photoshop or the like) quickly and make it appear as though it has always been there. "It takes it time to learn.", "Buy a good instruction book.", and "Take some classes!" are comments I hear from those who can manipulate there photos and make it look good.
Some of the best advise I have been given and give out is "keep it simple", and "learn to do it right in/with the camera". I spend less time at the computer if I take the time to set up and prepare for the photograph.

Hey David, You did a nice job on this one. Sometimes I think Photoshop can be almost as much phun as taking the photos in the first place. But most of my photos go on the blog with just minimal processing in Bridge.
Great points - great image too! I'm learning more and more about my camera which helps with less time at the computer!

I only do a little editing on my pictures; like you say, I'd rather get it right in camera. Since most of my shots are birds, and the occasional wildlife, I don't find a need for heavy editing. I like to try and show what I've seen.
I do admire the work of others though, that can manipulate the image, and make a 'wow' picture at the end. A great skill.
Awesome photo David, I love how the shadow doesn't match what Emily is doing... pretty darn cool.
I personally love photos straight out of the camera, that shows true photography talent to be able to post something and have it look crystal clear and magnificent. I feel that anyone can learn, and trust me I want to, how to "fix" photos but then all I see is perfection and nobody is that perfect in real life in my opinion. I guess what I'm saying is that I like real things, I'm a true blue country bumpkin at heart. :-)
