Silky Water

 Waters don't move!

This was fun to photograph. It helped a lot that I had a new ND filter. Worth every penny! What was bad is that I forgot a step-up ring to use on my wide angle lens. These are taken with a 70-200mm lens.  I will have to go again and be sure I have the right equipment with me to get even better shots. Like I need an excuse to go out and take pictures. This area is on the way to Mirror Lake.

Make A Wish

I hate this weed in my yard, but it photographs well! Kids love them because they pick them and make a wish as they blow them all over.

A Day Fishing

This man was one of a few gentleman out fishing at Mirror Lake. A beautiful area to spend the day doing what ever you like outdoors. The camp sites were not open yet but a day trip is just as fun. I will need to get up to this area again soon.

Wild Flowers And Insects

We left the house at 3:30 am to be high in the mountains to capture this sun rise! I am not a morning person but this beautiful shot was worth it. We saw moose, deer and hummingbirds in the early hours.

I have seen these little flowers in a blue color, because they grow in my flower bed. I spotted the purple ones and spent some type photographing them. On the mountainside we hiked, there was purple, white, and blue flowers among several other types and colors.
My friend spotted this little guy after I walked right passed it. We tried to move it out to take more pictures, unsuccessfully. It dropped to the ground and hid in the undergrowth.

Air Show 2016

This is the best picture of a jet I captured. I really needed to be on base to get the better pictures. I have see some from others that are much better than what I have. Next time I need to brave the crowds and heat!

The smoke trails help make it easier to find the plane in the air. The jets sometime go by to fast and I am not ready. I love the bi-planes, may-be for just that reason.
Hats off and a big salute to the all the men and women who serve our country, now and in the past.

Wild Horses

They have no idea that people pay thousands of dollars to get this kind of view. It is generally very hot here in the west desert, but this day was overcast and we were able to find a herd of one hundred or more. I circled around them first, than had the chance to slowly walk through the herd and get some great shots. Thanks to my dad and neighbor, Terry, for coming with me. It is a long drive, but so worth it. We will need to do it again.

 Just horsing around!

The first band I found. A small one but I had hopes of finding more later.

Okay, I know it is not a horse, but it has horse power!

RC Airplanes

I meet Jeff "Z-Man" a year or so ago. He is still having fun with his planes. This happens to be a new plane he is breaking in. It was amazing to watch him fly. Z-Man makes it look easy! He is able to make it hover just a few feet off the ground. He hopes to make it a few inches but needs more run time on the engine.

Western Scrub Jay

Taken with the Tamron 150-600mm lens on a Nikon D7200, out the kitchen window into the backyard. Earlier this month, I noticed a large blue bird that kept visiting but never stayed long. I asked around and was told it was a scrub jay and they like peanuts! I made a another feeder from some recycled parts, an old fan cage, and wire to put peanuts and whole sun flower seeds in. My new winged friend visited long enough to clean me out of peanuts. Twice! When I put out food I get visitors for hours. It has been very entertaining. I have even spotted a fat cat in the tree! It ran off quickly when it saw me. Time to reload the feeders and enjoy the nature show.

As The Sun Goes Down II

The things we, photographers, will do to get a photograph. This is another shot I took while leaving Antelope Island. I don't this photographer but I image he took a great picture.

As The Sun Goes Down

As I was leaving Antelope Island the other night I noticed several cars park on the side of the causeway. Several photographers were standing out in the lake bed ready to capture the closing light of the day. This young woman not only captured the sunset but also took a moment to see it for herself. Sunsets at Antelope Island can be spectacular! Come and enjoy one for yourself or with someone special.

American Kestrel

I captured these Kestrels out at Farmington Bay. On a resent outing to the bay this little bird was the only thing worth photographing. There were lots of sea gulls and only a few eagles
