A Snail's Pace

The need for SPEED!

Wild Horses

How many horses do you see?

Something funny to say...or just a yawn!

Another set of wild horses from the west desert. Shot with a Nikon D500 and the Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens.

In "Sprite" Of It

The reason for the road trip with Sharee!

After getting off of I-15 on our way to Salina, we passed this old house. (Pictures above.) Turning around for these pictures turned out to be a great start to a road trip adventure!

At another turn on the road to Salina. Another photo opportunity.

I was invited to go on a road trip to Salina, Utah to see the large soda cans behind a gas station at the end of town. (Coming from the north.)  One of several quirky things you can see across the state. It was a two hour drive from Salt Lake City and in "Sprite" of it, it was worth the drive. We found a few other things to see and ate at a home town restaurant called the Hot Spot. Great food and nice folks in Salina. Thanks Sharee for the invite and driving. We need another road trip, quirky or not!

Friends At The Zoo

Hard to believe that is glass behind them.

Little baby

It has been a long time since I have visited Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City. They have change things a lot. I was very impressed with the lion exhibit. It allowed for some great views of the lions and for them a nice view of us too! They over look the train ride and the zebras exhibit next door. There are more opportunities of pictures at the zoo so I will need to more time to get there.

Water Balloons

 Part one

Part two

I know I have done this type of thing before, but with a Nikon D500 it is fun to see the improvements in speed and auto focus the camera can now give you. It make it fun to go back and explore photography even if it is things you have done before! A special thanks to my neighbors boys who helped in setting things up and throwing the darts. Even though there are challenges to tossing a dart on the count of three, your help lets me get a few more great pictures to add to the collection.

Wild Flower And Bugs

Here are the others I promised! I have no idea what kind of bugs they are. The bug in the bottom photo was about one to two inches long and can fly quickly. It have a blue iridescent body when the light hits it just right. Pretty but gave us a startle when it flew around our heads! Thought it might be a  wasp of some kind with a stinger, but have no clue.

Looking through some old files, I realized, I have a few pictures I can post. We sent at least an hour on the side of the road taking pictures of this flower and all the bugs that where visiting it also. More to come tomorrow.

Snow Basin

Four friends, out for a day on the slopes!

 Do you see me?

Just a few pictures from Snow Basin in January 2017. I can't wait to do it again next year. I am not known for shooting in the winter time and cold! I am trying to break out of my comfort zone.
