This morning I meet my brother-in-law at the skate park. I had just laid down and gotten into positions, when on the second pass by me, the crank broke off his bike and flew over my head. Luckily, he was not injured and neither was my camera gear!

On occasion I get invited to come and shoot friend and family members doing the things they love to do. The top picture is shot with a fish eye lens. It looks as though the tire will hit me in the face or the lens. I do sometime get a little close to the edge. I am lucky their feet do not slip off the pedals and boot me in the side of the head or hit my camera! The rider's back tire is about three to four feet above the bowl. The total height at the back tire is about 12 feet from the bottom of the bowl. Crazy stuff of a 40 year old kid, but very cool! There is a nice morning silhouette and another close to the edge shot. Top picture - D200, fish-eye lens, f/4.5, 1/320 sec., ISO 100, Middle - Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 lens, f/4.5, 1/640 sec., ISO 200, Bottom - Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 lens, f/2.8, 1/500 sec., ISO 200.
