There is lots of fun to be had at a state fair. Rides, games, food, drinks, exhibits, shows and people everywhere. If you missed out this year, plan for next year and bring your camera.

Black And Yellow
Any one hail a cab lately? The sea of yellow cabs in New York is quite the site. It is one of the first things to greet you leaving the airport. Riding in one is like a roller coaster ride with no lap bar. I have never heard the horn of a vehicle used so often and not just by a cabby! I had no idea a car could fit into such small holes between other vehicles. What a ride! I should have bought the tee-shirt that stated " I survived a New York taxi cab ride!" Add a cab ride in New York City to your bucket list, it could be a thrill you will never forget.

On Top Of The World
Okay, not the top of the world, but a top the 86th floor of the Empire State Building. I believe we are looking west to New Jersey. This is an image I have wanted to capture as soon as I learned I would be going to New York. I wanted it to be night time and have the city lights a glow, but there is so much to see and do in New York City that I'll take what I can get. Though, I now have an excuse to go again! The city is a great backdrop to a photographer even an amateur like myself. No wonder several movies and television show are shot there. Next time I hope to have more time to explore and capture the city they call The Big Apple.

Proposal In Central Park
Will you marry me?
...and she said "Yes"!
While I was strolling through Central Park with my father-in-law, we happened upon a couple hugging near the waters edge. I thought it was a Kodak moment but did not want to intrude. I heard the young lady say something to the effect of " are you kidding me!" as she looked at the ring on her finger. The bright guy that I am, (hug, ring on finger, smile on face) I ask if he just proposed and would they reenact it so I could capture it for them. Congratulations to Mike and Genevieve on their pending marriage. I wish you lots of love and happiness.

Motocross Pee Wee Rider
#51 Super Pee Wee Champion... in dad's eyes!
I was shooting the pee wee race when a father with great pride and excitement said to me "#51" with his thumbs up. This little man is between four and six years old. He like his bigger competitors was giving it all he had. Cheers and fist pumps fly as the pee wee rider go by, sending dirt from the rear tires out a few feet as they accelerate through a corner or over a jump.
Motorcross
Airborne!
In a rut.
Leading a pack.
Looking back.
Tearing it up.
Inside lane...a chance to pass!
Just a few shots from the motocross races in Preston Idaho.
More to come.

Love On The Fourth Of July
I wanted the foreground to be filled with people watching the fireworks this year. It was, until a large family group left leaving a big space on the lawn. This was annoying but work to my advantage. With a big burst of pyrotechnics it help light the silhouette of a young couple sitting in front of me. Awe, summer love! I hope you watched fireworks with someone you love. A special thanks to all the men and women who serve/served our country. God Bless America.

D800 For The Weekend
Original file size was 18.3MB, JPG Fine. The RAW file size would be huge! Nikon D800 with a 14-24mm f/2.8 lens. F/18, 1/100 sec., ISO 200.
Original file size was 27.2 MB, JPG Fine. Again the RAW file would be enormous! Nikon D800 with a 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 lens. F/8, 1/200 sec., ISO100.
A special thanks to Nikon for sponsoring the Antelope Island event and the use of the D800 and a few lens. I love it when they come to town. The D800 was made for landscapes, portrait and wedding photographers. The 36 mega pixels render a file that is just unbelievable. I was told the video was stunning as well, though I did not try it.
