Young Man Fishing

Visiting Kaysville Ponds, I witnessed some young men having a good time fishing. They were using hot dog chunks for bait and reeling them in as fast as they could cast! The small fish brought big smiles to their faces! I was in awe! I never get that lucky fishing. Must be the hot dogs! What a great way to spend the summer, fishing with your buddies. Making memories that turn into B-I-G fish stories, that only get B-I-G-G-E-R the more they are told!!

Squirrel

While hiking through the woods, I could hear the chatter of this little fellow. It took me a little while to spot it. Even with a good telephoto lens I still wanted to get closer. He or she was chattering like hens in a hen house! It was great fun to watch and observe this squirrel. Look at its dirty face.

Its amazing what you can see when you look down below your knees. I found these little fungi while on a hike near Snow Basin. I need to look down more often!

Night Shots - Camping II

 

I thought the owner of this old car was fast asleep when I was taking there picture. Remember the crying baby, that's one camp over! Wrong again! The old has wooden spokes. I think it is a Hudson. The driver, a woman, was touring the US visiting friends and loved ones.

I asked this family if I could take these shots of them. They very kindly said yes, and I stayed only as long as I needed. They had a young child in the tent, he/she was not willing to go to bed! Do you remember the cry of a child who is so tired but not willing to sleep for fear of missing out on something fun. That was this child at 11 pm.

Here's a helpful photography tip, remember to shoot a vertical shot along with the horizontal. You never know when one will be better than the other.

Catching The Sunset

 

I have no idea who was sitting in this SUV, but they were good sports. They were not bothered by my popping a flash and wiggling a flashlight at them. If I did, I am sorry! I believe I got a good photograph for my efforts. I thought no one was in the vehicle at first, but discovered later they were laying back in the seat catching the sunset. After my discovering the car was occupied I quickly finished what I was doing and started something else.

Spiders Of Antelope Island

If you like to hike, and are going to hike Antelope Island, be careful walking between the sage brush. There are lots of big spiders to go with the beautiful views! Summer at Antelope Island is spider time! I don't know what kind of spider this is, but the pictures are of the same type.
